Roots started from a straightforward concept and the will to bring it to life. In 1973, Michael Budman and Don Green established Roots. They drew inspiration from their love for Ontario’s Algonquin Park and all it symbolized for them. Beginning in Toronto with footwear, Roots expanded to include high-quality leather bags, jackets, accessories, their iconic salt & pepper sweats, natural fiber apparel, and home decor. The leather goods have consistently been and remain crafted in Canada at our own facility in Toronto.
